Dr. Farr Nezhat is a past President of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS). He is presently a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Director as well as Fellowship Director of the Gynecologic Minimally Surgery Division, and a full-time faculty member of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, and Director of Gynecologic Oncology at the Mercy Medical Center in Long Island.

Dr. Nezhat is a pioneering leader in the application of minimal access surgery to pelvic malignant and benign gynecologic pathologies. He is nationally and internationally known for his research, teaching and clinical contributions to the field of gynecologic and pelvic surgery. He serves on the Editorial Boards of JSLS, The Journal of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery. Dr. Nezhat is co-author of two textbooks that detail his technique, "Operative Gynecologic Laparoscopic Principles and Techniques" and "Endometriosis: Advanced Management and Surgical Techniques". He is frequently lecturing and presenting in different aspects of the gynecological malignancies and laparoscopic applications nationally and internationally. He has written more than 150 scientific articles and more than 40 chapters mostly related to advanced operative laparoscopy.
