Dr. Kathy Salari (Fellow 2006)
Kathy Salari is currently a fourth year medical student at the University of California at San Diego. Kathy graduated with honors with a bachelor's degree in molecular biology from U.C. Berkeley in 2001. Subsequently, she joined a lab at Roche Bioscience in Palo Alto, CA. In a collaborative effort to find novel therapeutics for psychiatric diseases, her work centered on several molecular cloning projects and establishing stable cell lines suitable for high throughput screening. In 2003, Kathy began her studies at UC San Diego, School of Medicine, where she has been active in women's health research as well as expanding the preclinical curriculum to offer electives in women's health. In August 2006, Kathy began her collaboration with Dr. Camran Nezhat at the Center for Special Minimally Invasive Surgery as a visiting student, and has maintained her involvement by contributing to ongoing projects. She plans to apply to obstetric & gynecology residency programs this year.
